At Access Medical Clinic, we’re proud to recognize the providers who make a difference in the lives of our patients every day. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Terri Moody, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, a Family Nurse Practitioner who provides care across telehealth, clinics, and long-term care.
A Calling to Care for Others
Terri’s passion for healthcare began long before she became a provider. One of her greatest inspirations was her grandmother, who worked as a CNA at their local hospital.
“Watching her care for others with compassion and kindness helped shape the nurse and provider I am today,” Terri shared. “Healthcare became more than a career for me—it became a calling.”
That calling has led Terri through an impressive educational journey. She earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from East Arkansas Community College in 2000, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Baptist College of Health Sciences in 2005. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Arkansas State University in 2007 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2016.
While Terri is proud of earning her DNP, she considers the impact she has had on others throughout her career her greatest accomplishment.
“Whether caring for patients, mentoring students, or serving others in the community, knowing I made a difference means the most to me,” she said.
Making a Difference Through Relationships
What Terri loves most about working at Access Medical Clinic is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with her patients and provide care that makes a difference in their everyday lives. She also values the people around her and the opportunity to be part of a team that genuinely cares about patients.
Terri serves as co-chair of the Parkin Community Health Fair and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and the Arkansas Nurses Association. She also volunteers and helps organize community health and outreach activities.
Life Beyond the Clinic
Outside of work, Terri enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Spice. She loves reading and listening to audiobooks, particularly books about women of the Bible, and she also enjoys couponing. And, in true family fashion, she admits she enjoys “talking a little noise” with the Cowboys fan in her life.
Her personal motto reflects the heart she brings to both her personal and professional life:
“Let the life I live and the way I treat others be a reflection of God’s love.”
A Spotlight Shared With Her Team
Perhaps what stands out most about Terri is that she doesn’t view this recognition as hers alone. She is quick to recognize the many people who make patient care possible behind the scenes.
“The nurses, receptionists, MAs, CNAs, and everyone working on the other end of telehealth are such an important part of the care we provide,” Terri said. “I may be the face on the screen, but there is an entire team behind every visit helping care for our patients, keeping things moving, and making sure I have what I need to do my job well.”
She also shared a special thank you to the nurses, staff, and residents at Crestpark, describing them as a source of comfort and authenticity after a long or difficult week.
“So while I am grateful to be recognized, I could never accept this spotlight without shining some of it back on the people who stand beside me every day,” Terri said. “They make me a better provider, and more importantly, they make me a better person. I am incredibly thankful for each and every one of them.”
