Monya York, Director of Credentialing, is one of AMC’s Employees of the Month for April. Based in Cherokee Village, Arkansas, she’s a long-standing AMC employee, having worked for the company for nearly a decade. One of the reasons Monya was chosen was because she embodies her personal motto: “Treat others how you want to be treated.” Her colleagues also admire her proactiveness – she’s always seeking out solutions when she doesn’t have immediate answers.
Monya attended Arkansas State University and obtained a degree in Business/Accounting. She ultimately decided to pursue a career in healthcare in 1986 due to the variety of opportunities in the industry. With decades of experience, she has witnessed many industry changes. Although she acknowledges that not all have been positive, Monya values the challenges that have accompanied the growth.
In her free time, she enjoys working on her flowers, sewing/quilting, and camping at the lake. She’s been married to her husband for 44 years, and her most proud accomplishments are her two children. Between the two, Monya is grandmother to six grandchildren who have her “whole heart.”
